50th PAR-TEE Cammarata Style

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy working and not doing too many exciting things.. Last weekend we went to Wisconsin for my dad's 50th birthday party. It was a lot of fun, but a very short time.

We left Friday to head to Denver and stay the night, We had a very early flight on Saturday. We flew from Denver to Minneapolis. It is about a 3 1/2 hour car ride from MN to Rapids. It was nice to see my parents, sister, aunt, and some family friends (haven't seen them in forever.) We just hung out and waited for my brother and his family. Luke, my brother, sister in law, Jessica, and I all went to see The Maze Runner. It was a really good movie. I normally don't like movies like that, I'm more of a chic flick girl, but it was good.

Sunday was party day. The theme of the party was Hawaiian. Jessica and I went on a Hawaiian clothes hunt.. We ended up finding a lot of things at Goodwill. It's always fun shopping even if it's only for Hawaiian clothes. At the party we ate (of course) I gave a speech for my dad, and had a photo booth.

On Monday we went to pick out my dads birthday present.. Luke & I got him a Goldendoodle.. She was the last golden female. Her name is Belle (notice another Disney name) and adorable. We also went to Madison to take our family friends to the airport.
Tuesday was leaving day. Melanie, Gil, Luke, Elycia, and I left to head to Minneapolis to fly home. We went early so we could do some shopping at the Mall of America. We went to the airport to check in and was told that our reservations were for September 24 (the next day). We went over to the other airlines to see if we could catch a flight, Delta had one flight left the price was.. drumroll please....... $1000 yes you read that correctly. ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS a seat. We ended up staying in a hotel and changing our flight to Wednesday morning at 6am. We both worked all day on Wednesday so lets just say it was a very very long day...

Of course I couldn't be home and not put on my wedding dress.. *note my dress didn't fit me last winter* && IT FITS!!
The rest of the week was just working long days. Next weekend I am going to Denver to a hair show with a good friend. I'm pretty excited.. :) That is all for now.. Until next time! :)

My Lifestyle Change...

First off, I am not one to talk to much about my personal fitness/weight loss. I have had many people ask what I have been doing, and what is shakeolgoy..  so lets hurry and get this done with.

Slowly but surely my clothes kept getting smaller and smaller.. My first thought was that these clothes are from high school and it's okay.. I sold most of my jeans and bought some bigger ones.. No big deal everyone needs bigger jeans at some point.. I was tired of not feeling pretty, not loving what I was seeing in the mirror. I knew I wasn't "fat" but I wasn't in shape either. I didn't eat healthy, and ate what I wanted when I wanted..

One day I was on Facebook and came across Lyndsay, (not real sure how but so glad I did) She is a beachbody coach and introduced me to beachbody. I ordered a few samples of shakeology but wasn't hooked.. Thought it was way too expensive, didn't see the benefits, etc.. About 6 months later Lyndsay told me about a new program that came out 21 day fix. (so glad she didn't give up on me)

The 21 day fix is a 21 day fitness program that helps with portion control. It also comes with a 30 minute a day workout as well as a daily shake. I thought this was something I could do. I took the plunge and bought the challenge pack.

BEST DECISION EVER!!

My journey really started then...

I'm so glad I was introduced to SHAKEOLOGY!! The healthiest meal of the day!

What is shakeology?
Shakeology is so incredibly healthy, there's no other single food item out there that can supply you with all the nutrients, vitamins, proteins, and minerals in the amounts you need the way one delicious shake can.

Throughout this journey (still in progress) I learned a lot about my eating habits.  I was eating way to many carbs and not nearly enough vegetables. I learned how to eat what I wanted but in small amounts. I learned that getting in shape is a lifestyle change not a diet. I also learned that it is all about 20% working out 80% in the kitchen. You can't out work a bad diet.

I didn't realize how much weight I gained until I looked at pictures from the past. Now when I look at pictures I think "why didn't anyone tell me"

I fell in love with working out, eating healthy, and shakeology. I have decided to become a beachbody coach so I can help other meet their fitness goals. I am so excited about continuing this journey and would love to help anyone I can.. It is such a great feeling looking at that scale and seeing the numbers go down or fitting into those jeans that use to be so tight.

The best thing is I changed my lifestyle. I still go out to eat, I still eat chocolate and junk food just in moderation.

Although my story isn't about me losing 50 plus lbs, I still have a success story. I ended up losing 20 lbs, maintaining it, and feeling a lot better about myself. Also fit into my smaller size jeans! :)

Friendships.

A friendship is not being inseparable
it's being separated and
nothing changes.

Friends. Friends are great, they are needed during good times and bad. But, what is the definition of a "friend"? What is the difference between a friend and an acquaintance? Where do we draw the fine line between a friend and a best friend? What makes a best friend?

These are questions I often ask myself. Yes, I have friends. My husband is one of my best friends. The type of friendship my husband and I have is a different friendship between one of my girlfriends. Everyone needs that friend you can call up no matter what time it is and know that they will be there with a listening ear.

All through my life I have struggled with friends. Sure, I have had many friends, and always had someone to hang out with. This brings me to first question, what is the difference between a friend and an acquaintance? I feel like everyone has a different definition. My definition of an acquaintance would be someone you know. Someone you have hung out with maybe a few times, a Facebook friend.

As we grow up, we realize it becomes less important to have a ton of friends, and more important to have real ones.

There have been different events in my life where I have felt my true friends (I would say best friends) shine through. One of them is moving 16 hours away right after high school. At the moment I found out who my true friends were. The ones who have stayed in touch throughout the past 5 years.
Another event was when I got married. Being one of the first of my friends to get married some feel it is harder to connect with me. (makes sense) Then again very few "friends" have stayed in touch since my wedding. This brings me to another question, What makes a best friend? The difference between a best friend and a friend would be the best friend is there for you know matter what, puts the same amount of effort in the relationship, someone you can count on at all times, someone you can share secrets with. A friend is one step below that. You still can count on them, but don't get to terribly upset when they let you down, someone you have fun with and have hung out with more then a handful of times. Someone you share memories with, but not as depth as a best friend. A best friend is also someone who is honest  with you about anything, someone that can tell you what they feel without the worry of you hating them because of the unspoken trust and know they have your best interest.

Friendship is hard, just like any relationship it takes 2. One person can't give it their all while the other sits there not trying. It takes effort from both individuals, they both have to work at it and want to continue being friends. Both parties have to be on the same page, are we besties, or just friends?

Over the years I have learned it doesn't matter how many friends you have all that matters is who is there for you no matter what. Who would do anything for you? I have also learned it is not easy making new friends the older you get. I feel like it was so much easier to make friends when all you had to worry about was who wanted to play barbies, and color with you.

It sucks losing friends, especially best friends. It sucks looking through photos and remembering all the memories you have made together. It almost feels like a break up. It's sad how some people will let a boy or another friend or a few miles get in the way of your friendship. I am a firm believer that if you want to make a relationship work then it will be very successful.

I would like to thank my friends, the ones who have stuck by me through thick and thin. The ones who I know I can count on no matter what. The ones that still stay in contact over the years.
